I Got Corked!

Saturday I attended the Corky Ballas Workshop. He's the guy that danced w/ Cloris Leachman on Dancing With the Stars. The group cha cha and samba classes were really fun. (Although I think Corky was surprised that fewer people knew samba.) In cha cha, we went over different types of chasses and lock steps. Of course there were more women than men so we sometimes had to partner w/ a woman. At one point when he told us to switch partners I was looking around to see what women were left and Corky came up to me and I got to do lock steps w/ him. He kept saying, "Good girl, good girl." That made me feel good. One of Vince's students' husband was taking pics, so I hope he got a few of me and Corky. I also got some "good girls" during the samba class.

Corky is a very short man. I think we're almost the same height W/O my heels...I didn't think he was tall on TV but seeing him in person...he is short. He seems to be very friendly and fun...but then he is paid to be friendly and fun...And he has no wrinkles...

Fun side note, Tango & Cha Cha's had little plastic glasses to commemorate the workshop. I got one. It says "I got Corked - Corky Ballas Workshops." Hence the title of this post...

Another nice thing that happend Saturday...not to continue to toot my own horn - but it is nice to get complements...I saw a woman who appeared to be coaching a student and his teacher. I had not seen her before but as it turns out she is a competition judge. A friend of mine was talking to her and some others during my lesson. He said she was watching my lesson and commented that I had great legs and lots of control. That was cool to hear...especially since I rarely feel in control of my legs/feets while dancing...
