Change of Plans

Mom is not coming home today as we thought. She was very tired yesterday and was complaining of a similar headache/earache as she did before the stroke. No one on staff has taken this seriously yet. I think my sister will call the hospital doctor today about that. In my "professional" opinion as her daughter, she's just tired. She had a big weekend - my cousin visited from out of town; other friends came and visited; she found out Friday she might go home today and got all excited; she hasn't been sleeping all thru the night every night; plus her therapy from 9 or 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They were supposed to give her something to help her sleep last night - hopefully it did the job. So they are going to keep her there until Oct. 31, then decide if she can go home.

And to add to my rant from yesterday: 1) mom sent me home w/ her laundry to do; 2) I was nearly rear-ended on my way home by a woman who was in an altercation w/ another driver on the road; 3) I had to call all mom's friends to give the update; 4) my sister showed up and stayed all evening...finally around 9:30 she realized I didn't want any company and left...OK - enough ranting.
