Mom's Case Manager Called My Sister

The case manager called this morning and said that they believe mom needs 24-hour supervision even after being released from the rehab center. Their recommendation is an adult day care provider just like a children’s day care so she would be supervised while we are at work. She would stay at home but we would take her to day care every day and pick her up. During the day, she would go to therapy. The rehab center would pick her up for that and return her to day care. The case manager thinks that the insurance will pay for the day care if recommended by the doctor. She is checking into that and will get back to us. They have all kinds of things for them to do such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, movies, therapy etc. We’ll see about that. Someone gave me info about Christian Care Centers for home health, etc. We are going to check into that as well.

I would like for someone to explain to me how we went from "she's doing good, she's coming home" to sending her to senior day care.
