Tango, Tango

The showcase went really well. At least that's what everyone told me. I don't remember much. Sometimes that happens. I remember stepping w/ the wrong foot at the beginning and I remember confusing two parts later in the routine and I had to rush to get to where I was supposed to be. I don't remember getting stepped on. My friend, August, came from FW to watch me dance. He asked me about getting stepped on but I didn't recall it. But I must have since I have a bruise on top of my right foot this morning. Several of the teachers came to me afterward and said I did great. One in particular said I was very grounded. That's a miracle! I was very glad to hear that!

My feet were burning when I got home last night and I had to ice them. Saturday, I spent five hours at the studio. Two of those hours were idle time because some west coasters had wax or something on their shoes and it made the floor too slippery for the rest of us. Then Vince cleaned the floor himself. I spent all of that time in my dress and shoes. Then another three hours on Sunday in the dress and shoes. My feet and legs are aching today. But I feel good about the routine and I look forward to doing it again in February at the Texas Star Ball. Maybe I will work out all the brain glitches by then. And I have to say how refreshing it is to work w/ a teacher who is so encouraging and positive ALL THE TIME and then cleans the dance floor so no one slips and falls.

On a side note, XTO got bought out by ExxonMobil. We haven't had a meeting or anything yet this morning to get more info. So I'm just gonna have to believe that this is a good thing and that I will get to keep my job. God willing.
